= Known issues =

The page lists known problems of Sophie in this release (Sophie 2.0.4, released 1 March 2010). Some of these issues may be cleared up by daily builds, which are available on the [wiki:Download downloads page].

== Recommended minimum standards ==

Sophie should run on computers that have either Java 5 or Java 6. Minimum standards for Sophie 2.0 are: 

 * '''Windows''': Windows XP, Vista and 7, running at least Java 5.1.
 * '''Mac OS X''': 32-bit systems with at least OS 10.5, running at least Java 5; or 64-bit systems with at least OS 10.5.8, running at least Java 5.
 * '''Linux''': Linux running at least Java 5.1.

While Sophie may run on other platforms, we can't be sure how well it will run; if you run into problems, contact us. 

== Known issues on all platforms ==

 * Web sites using Flash don't work in browser frames and may make Sophie unresponsive.
 * Sophie's performance is better on computers when running in Java 6 than it is in Java 5; if your computer has both, make sure that you're using Java 6.
 * Autochaining creates new pages but doesn't yet respect layouts.
 * Parts of the timeline interface still work incorrectly.
 * Not all resources can be exported in their original formats yet.
 * Issues with layout redrawing may affect performance.

== Mac issues ==

 * Currently, downloading a Sophie book in Safari may change the extension from ''.spbf'' to ''.spbf.zip''. Remove the ''.zip'' suffix; the books will open normally in Sophie.
 * The menu bars in the Mac application don't appear in the standard location for Mac applications.
 * On some Mac OS 10.5 systems, the first time media or a browser frame is inserted, an error may occur. Dismiss this error; all subsequent use of media & browser frames should be fine. This will happen the first time you use the application, but shouldn't happen again.

== Windows issues ==

 * There are some issues with layout redrawing on Windows Vista.

== Linux issues ==

 * There may be audio issues on 32-bit Linux systems.
