9.2. Controlling timelines

By default, the page's timeline starts playing as soon as the page is opened. This can be changed by creating links to control the page's timeline. Four actions in the link HUD control timelines. They are:

• Play timeline, which will play the page's timeline from the current playhead position.
• Pause timeline, which will pause the page's timeline; if it is played again, it will start from the position where it was paused.
• Rewind timeline, which will rewind the playhead of the page's timeline back to the beginning.
• Stop timeline, which will stop the page's timeline and rewind the playhead back to the beginning of the timeline.

To learn about how links work, go to the section of the documentation about working with links. If you don't want a timeline to play automatically when the page is opened, you could set a link on the page's link HUD saying that "on page shows" "stop timeline".
