Known issues

This build of Sophie 2 is a pre-release build and consequently does not have much of the functionality of the full Sophie 2. The documentation explains which parts of Sophie 2 are not in this release.

Known issues

• All frames currently have a 10-pixel red border and are by default sized 280 x 210 pixels. This is not final behavior.
• Text editing is limited in this release: there is no cursor insertion, and the text HUD affects all the text in the paragraph. The SHIFT key does not work in text fields currently. For now, if you want to type in capital letters, you can press the CAPS LOCK key before typing the capital letter. This is not final behavior!
• Copying and pasting in text is confined to the entire contents of text frames. Pasting text from outside Sophie may result in an error if the text is rich text.
• HTML export is presently confined to plain text.
• Audio playback does not work on Macs. Audio playback works sometimes, but not consistently, on Linux.
• Audio recording does not work in Sophie running on a Mac using SoyLatte. It does work on Macs running Sophie using Apple Java 6.
• Timelines are being refactored, and have been removed from this release.
• Pages that use images as backgrounds cannot be saved and will cause an error.
• Links cannot be saved in this release.
• Links that turn a page will work correctly but cause an error.
• Exporting a PDF from a book that includes grouped frames will cause an error.
• Currently, downloading a Sophie book in Safari may change the extension from .spbf to .spbf.zip. Remove the .zip suffix; the books will open normally in Sophie.
