4.3. Importing text
You can also import text into Sophie if the text is in plain text (.txt) or Rich Text Format (.rtf). RTF can contain text formatting; plain text cannot. Most word processors, including Microsoft Word, can save files as RTF. You can also import text from an HTML document like a web page if you have a copy of the .html file locally.
To import a text file, choose Insert > Plain Text, Insert > RTF, or Insert > HTML from the file menus in Sophie. A new text frame will be inserted containing the text document. This text frame can be manipulated just like any text frame in Sophie; you can use the chaining halo to connect the flow from this frame to other frames or to automatically create new pages to hold the imported text. Once text has been imported, it appears in the resources tab in the right flap; you can drag it from the resources to another page to create another instance of the imported text.
Note that not all styling may import correctly at this time. Inline images, for example, are not currently copied into Sophie.
