the idea about sub-team mails is explained vaguely, and probably will need some extra explanations. i think that better way for team communications are skype chats because there the managing of attendants is far more easier. and if the sub-team members switch teams then we will end up with several maillists that include most of the team members.

This was implemented, so it passes review, but some criticisms, mostly the same as those in 1438:

  • It would be nice if the email about the end of the iteration appeared closer to the end of the iteration because appearing well after the iteration was finish makes it appear to the public that the project is delayed. This wasn't actually the case.
  • (related) If Ludmil is going to be editing the text for this and the blog entries, it might make sense to get text to him faster so that he has more time to work on this and doesn't slow things down. Is that what slowed this down?
  • (Minor) There seemed to be a couple of formatting issues - a couple of paragraphs are stuck together which shouldn't be.

I've edited the textual mistakes & fixed them.

My main concern is that this is how the general public (that is, Mellon & USC) see Sophie right now - most of these people aren't actually going to download Sophie, they just want to see that work is coming along - and so this task is very important to the project as a whole. (I don't know how many people are on the dev mailing list right now, so this is probably not as important as the blog for the moment.) I'd be happy to give the next version of this email a proofreading just to make sure that formatting and grammar mistakes are caught - just get my attention, this doesn't take very long.
