2. Working with annotations
Support for Sophie 2 annotations is basic at the moment, though it will expand in the future. Annotations can be imported and exported from book to book; different sets of annotations can also be used. Right now the only form of annotations is sticky notes; more forms of annotations will appear in future versions of Sophie.
Annotation support in Sophie Reader uses the book extras tab, which can also be found in the right flap in Sophie Author. The book extras tab contains the all annotations and stickies palettes. It looks like this:
The all annotations palette is for the creation and management of annotation sets. Annotation sets are groups of annotations which can be imported and exported from Sophie; a single book can have several sets of annotations, which can be shown or hidden. This palette lists all annotation sets in the current book. The row of buttons across the top of the palette allows control of the annotation sets. The button button creates a new annotation set; a new annotation set is also created if you add a sticky to the book when no annotation set has previously been created. The second button allows you to import a set of previously saved annotations; the third button allows you to export the current set of annotations to a file. The fourth button allows you to show or hide the currently selected annotation set, and clicking the fifth button will close the currently selected annotation set.
