Meetings

Regular Meetings

Regular meetings are part of the Scrum methodology

  • Weekly meetings
    • Weekly meetings are with fixed start once a week stand-up meetings
    • Duration of the weekly meeting is ~1h
    • On weekly meetings each team member presents:
      • What has he/she done
      • What he/she plans to do
      • Are there any impediments
      • Proposals for discussion topic
  • Progress Checks
    • Progress checks are meetings with fixed start once a week. Progress checks are not live meetings, different teams participate via Skype
    • Duration of the progress check is fixed for each subteam, ~20 minutes depending on size of the subteam.
    • On progress checks each team member presents:
      • What has he/she declared
      • What has he/she done
      • Are there any impediments
      • What does he/she think about own and team velocity
  • Sprint Opening
    • Sprint Opening is done at the beginning of the sprint
    • Duration of the Sprint Opening 2-4 hours.
    • Sprint Openings are extended weekly meetings
    • Goals for the sprint are chosen
    • Sprint backlog is discussed
    • The whole sprint is being prepared
  • Sprint Closing
    • Sprint Closing is done at the end of the iteration
    • Demonstration section - each team member demonstrates what he/she has finished
    • Retrospection section - each team member answers the following questions
      • What went well - what did this member like in this iteration, personal and for the team, 4-5 sentences, writed on a sticky note
      • What could be better - what did this member dislike in this iteration, personal and for the team, 4-5 sentences, writed on a sticky note
      • How to improve - suggestion on how to improve - 2-3 suggestions, each suggestion is written on separate sticky note
      • Voting - each member votes for suggestions made in "How to improve" section with three votes. These suggestions are taken for goals of the next iteration
    • Mini Retrospection section - each team member gives feedback about the closing, duration ~10 minutes

Product owner participates in regular meetings. Each team member should be present on regular meetings. If a team member is not available for a meeting, he/she should find a representative and give him all og the information about his/her progress (and other information that one should present, listed above). Impediments are added to the Internal Backlog and resolved by the Scrum master.

Non-regular meetings

  • Inter team meetings
    • Inter team meetings can be requested by every team member at any time.
    • Specific questions (that do not affect the whole team) are examined on inter team meetings that are scheduled or on mail group.
  • Other meetings
    • Each team member can request other meetings on skype or by mail-lists

Most of the meetings are recorded and available at Videos
